About Shh Events

Shh Events is an event planning company located in Chicago and servicing the Midwest. It was conceived in 2019, took some time during 2020 to sharpen, and began to truly bloom in 2021. Since then, Shh Events has produced over one hundred weddings in many cities, bringing joy and compassion at every turn. 

Though Shh Events started with just Stephanie and her dream of telling couples love stories, it has grown to include four additional lead planners and an amazing crew of assistants, increasing our ability to spread the love. 

Shh started out of Stephanie’s need to do more for her clients. In catering and in venue management she felt she could take couples really far, but only as a planner has she been able to project manage ALL of the details leading up to a wedding day- the team loves to hear “OMG I wouldn’t have even thought to think about that!” from our couples. Logistics, checklists, and organization are the cornerstone of our practice, and with Stephanie being a mom of three she certainly knows how to prioritize and keep everyone on task while also spreading a LOT of love.

Not only does the team knock it out of the park with full service and partial planning at the helm of Stephanie herself, but where we really get a chance to shine is in our coordination packages.

It is a deeply held belief at Shh Events that everyone- including parents, family, and friends- should be truly present at the celebration of their loved one’s wedding.

Because of this we have created comprehensive and approachable coordination packages that allow couples and VIPs alike to truly let go and enjoy the day. 

What makes Shh Events stand out and continue in its success is that we are REAL people helping REAL people get married. To us, there are no qualifiers to being the perfect candidates to celebrate love. Gay, straight, Jewish, Christian, interracial, second marriage- we want to celebrate it all. Life gives us too few moments of true happiness and joy, our goal is to create as many of those moments as possible, and what better way to do that than with a wedding- a shared community of love. 

Staying Sustainable

  • All Shh Events team members work from their home-based offices, reducing office related waste. 

  • We keep a GREAT inventory of products for our clients to freely use, including table numbers, card boxes, easels, etc. 

  • We always encourage clients to rent from a rental company or use compostable dinnerware for catering. 

  • As a planner it’s easy for us to have a small footprint and stay sustainable - we help clients choose vendor partners that have a green philosophy so that the overall event experience is more eco-friendly.
